We are currently seeking Material manager to join our factory set up team in Huntsville, AL as part of the new LG Electronics Huntsville solar module factory.
The Materials Manager manages all material functions for the flow of materials, from supplier through production to customer, minimum inventory investment, minimum transportation costs and efficient plant operations. They will direct and coordinate the application, implementation, and activities of the Company’s ERP system to maximize its utilization across functional areas.
Oversee the material flow process.
Responsible for material supply to maintain mass production pipeline.
Establish and maintain supplier release procedure and supplier banking requirements to ensure an uninterrupted supply of raw materials to meet production requirements.
Review department / plant KPI’s (Optimum inventory level, long term inventory, obsolete inventory, production line stop, etc.) and establish corrective measures for performance adherence.
Provide leadership to subordinates for individual and group development.
Overall ownership of material ordering, availability, and scheduling targeting 2 week inventory levels, at a minimum
Ensure systemic accuracy of inventory
Rescheduling materials for pull ins (expedites) and push outs (for inventory control)
Daily Shortage root cause investigation and resolution
Partner closely with HQ / suppliers focusing on: Packaging needs, min/max planning. PCNs, as they relate to old/existing parts, materials replenishment planning, root-cause problem solving,
Supplier visits, as needed - internal and external
Manage Phase In / Phase Out (NPI) to minimize obsolete material
Support tool development for prediction of material issues
Bachelor’s degree in supply-chain, logistics or related field required
Minimum of 7 years of material, procurement or SCM experience required
Experience with Oracle based inventory management system
Six Sigma Belt is preferred.
Bilingual English and Korean preferred
